Description

This course is designed to cultivate the student’s understanding of and appreciation for literature from traditions around the world and from classical works into the modern era. Students will discover several reasons why Christians should read both Christian and mainstream literature. In this course the author presents the origins of literary traditions, the various types of literature readers may encounter, the elements that identify not only different literary forms (such as fiction, poetry, and drama) but also the subgenres of those forms, and how understanding the elements of literature will deepen both the reading and understanding of God’s Word and the Christian life experience.
