www.git.edu.mt | Making Disciples and Equipping Them May/June 2013 Bringing Affordable Education Home to YOU Paulís Letters to Pastors (BIB2022óCredit: 2 hours) Paulís Letters to Pastors is a basic study of the Epistles of 1 and 2 Timothy and Titus that describe Godís strategy for a healthy church. The student will learn about the personal life and duties of a pastor in finding and preparing leaders for service in the church. The student will study the various subgroups within a congregation and how to recognize and deal with error. Finally, the student will consider what is the essential nature of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The course Man and Sin is now into its 1Oth lesson. We have covered much material revealing who we really are, our sinful nature, our weakness and dangers of our sensuality. Students testify that they are finding this material has been very important to help them understand the greatness of God’s grace towards humans. One of my most favourite lessons is the one which describes the different kind of sins according to the Greek text. Also, another lesson which is very significant to Christians is the lesson about social sin. It clearly describes how societies sin has entered the church, and many Christians are not realizing that the standard they hold is in-line with worldliness. It systematically shows how sin can be condoned by believers...because it is sensual. I encourage the reader to take this  course for it gives a clearer picture of how short humans have fallen from the grace of God.

I have recently returned from trip to the Netherlands and Cuba, where I had the chance to dialogue with our national directors. The Cuba office now has over 2,300 students in undergraduate courses. What an example of great leadership by our national director and his staff. Equally important is the tremendous interest by Cuban pastors and Christian leaders in local churches, eager to learn and apply their knowledge in practical ways. Our Netherlands office is re-starting with a brand new director. To be honest, we think about and pray for all of you regularly here at the IO. We stand with you, believing God will give you favor and many open doors to evangelize, disciple, and train people for service in God’s Kingdom. My next trip will be to Kenya where I will be teaching a GU Masters-level course on Islam and Animism.

We are happy to say, that  Pastor Paul Mizzi, and his well known brother Dr. Joe Mizzi, joined our teaching team. All those who know them, agree that they are excellent teachers of God’s Word. The fact that they come from Baptist background, proves how GIT is a tool towards unity within the Maltese Churches.
